‘The creatives’ are tops

They aim to take art from the streets and bring it into schools so that they give youth from primary level to university level an opportunity to learn.

SEDIBENG. – After coming out tops in the successful Miss Mandela Day pageant earlier this year at the Eldorado Hall in Sebokeng, the top three title holders of the event were recently given an opportunity to compete in the Miss Spring Beauty pageant over the past weekend.

The contestants from ‘The Creatives’, a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) from Sebokeng, came out tops with two of them winning. Miss Spring Queen 2023 was won by Tatyana William, and Best Creativity 2023 by Dieketso Moorosi.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Lorence Lethebe, Treasure and Photographer said that their motto is: “We never enter Pageants and come back home empty handed”.

The organization’s objectives are to take art from the streets and bring it into schools so that they give youth from primary level to university level an opportunity to learn and take art as a career. They also aim to transform the educational system by training and educating learners on arts, culture, and heritage so that they influence African history and black consciousness from a young age.

“We are aiming to transform our creative sector through modeling, film, and theatre academy.  (We also aim to) Establish arts centers, and sports fields by partnering with sports, arts, and culture provincial and national departments and also other government departments and private sectors that will be willing to unite to transform the lives of our young people in South Africa.”
