Diniso Kasi Arts brings a season of ‘Spring-Summer Weekends Arts’ activities

VEREENIGING. – It’s going to be very hot this Spring going to Summer!

The Diniso Kasi Arts brings you the Spring-Summer Weekend Arts activities program where the arts activities will be presented at different indoor venues and open-air spaces within the Diniso Arts Complex, based in Bedworthpark, Vereeniging.

The activities will start from the 1 September until December 1.

On Friday nights it will be poetry/comedy and Pizza, on Saturday evenings there will be stage plays while on Sunday afternoons there will be music, meals, and different shows.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Diniso Kasi Arts’ Director, Iga-Makhulu Diniso said that the activities will be presented at different indoor venues and open-air spaces within the Diniso Arts Complex which are @IVA-Home Theatre that seats fifty audience members and stages solos, duets, and trio performers.

Others will be at the ‘ART-Port’ Kofi Bar which hosts twenty guests and with a platform for poetry and comedy shows. The ‘Lemon Trees Space’ will be where storytelling will be held with a viewing capacity of twenty people. At ‘The Back Place’ will be where poetry sessions will be held under the stars with a sitting power of twenty people, Diniso said.

“The program is meant to give artists who believe in live performances more than social media shows.  Live shows are good for artists to perfect their craft while also earning both money, positive critique, and exposure from the audience members.”

Diniso further said that Saturdays during the day will be open for an exhibition of handmade goods, home-cooked foods, and homebrewed drinks, going along with jam sessions for musicians under the Ketane Kulture Movement that was initiated in the 1980s by himself together with Mafiki ‘Fixzo’ Marokoane of the hit song, ‘I Can Feel It’, that was done with ‘The Hurricanes’, a music band from Sharpeville that was a hit in the ’70s.
