Deneysville launches service excellent small town programme during tourism month

“The initiative is aimed at bringing partners and stakeholders together to engage in programmes that will create a culture of service excellence in this small town,” DESTEA MEC Thabo Meeko.

DENEYSVILLE – The gorgeous town of Deneysville, known for its natural beauty and warm-hearted residents, has embarked on a journey to not only enhance the visitor experience but also raise the bar for service quality within the community.

This comes after Deneysville was proudly unveiled as the first town to be featured in the inaugural “Service Excellent Small-Town Programme”.

Following the recognition, government, locals, and businesses among other stakeholders gathered to listen in to plans to boost tourism and encourage green investments in the region.

The two-day program aims to elevate the level of service offered by both businesses and government to the public and tourists alike.

Different stakeholders including the Department of Tourism, the Free State Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA), and the Metsimaholo Local Municipality graced the event at scenic Anchor Creek Marina Resort.

As part of the #TOURISMMONTH2023 celebrations, which will extend throughout September, multiple events and activities have been planned in Deneysville.

These events aim to bring together key players and stakeholders within the tourism industry to exchange information, share expertise, and discuss strategies for improving service levels across the tourism value chain.

DESTEA MEC Thabo Meeko said, “The initiative is aimed at bringing partners and stakeholders together to engage in programmes that will create a culture of service excellence in this small town.”
