SHARPEVILLE. – A seemingly broken father, 55-year-old Kgodumo Seeiso from Sharpeville says he is struggling to come to terms with the death of his son Seeiso Seeiso (21). Seeiso was stabbed and killed in Sharpeville recently.
Seeiso was allegedly attacked, stabbed, and killed by his girlfriend’s cousin. According to Kgodumo, Seeiso was making his way home together with his friend after seeing his girlfriend.
“The girlfriend tells me that she was going back inside the house when she met her cousin at the gate, who beat her with a wooden stick and told her to go inside. Instead, she followed him as she suspected that he was following Seeiso.
“She said that he ran towards my son and attacked him from the back and stabbed him. The girl together with my son’s friend tried to get help but unfortunately, he passed away after they walked for just a few meters.”
Kgodumo says he was alerted by his son’s friend about what happened but when he arrived at the scene, his son’s body was already covered with a blanket.
“Emergency services arrived at the scene and declared him dead. The police were also at the scene. It was devastating to see my son like that because he is not someone who likes to fight.
“I just want to know whether his life needed to be taken like that. The perpetrator will go to jail but I will never get my son back,” he said.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says: “ A 22-year-old suspect was arrested and made an appearance at the Vereeniging Magistrates Court on Monday, 21 August.”
