Muso Fundament and VUT pageant finalists spread love to underprivileged

Muso Fundament and VUT models came together to prepare a special day for underprivileged children in Zone 7.

SEBOKENG – Dozens of Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Mr and Miss VUT finalists joined hands with Muso Fundament to make a positive impact and bring joy to underprivileged children in Zone 7, Sebokeng.

This is after the group of 22 finalists, comprising of 14 ladies and eight gents took time to join an already-flowing soup kitchen driven by Muso to feed scores of kids in his community.

Bearing gifts, the tall and slender young men and women helped dished the kids, played games, and later took images with them as a way to warm their hearts.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Tshepang Sibiya from Muso Fundament shared the background of his feeding scheme and explained the reason to co-join his initiative with VUT finalists.

“Our daily mandate is to eradicate poverty in our neighborhood and discover the potential in these kids. Personally, I grew up without a proper support structure and Lord knows how I needed someone who will be there as my guardian angel when I needed one,” he said.

Muso said he, together with a group of close friends, decided to share their little plans, and income to give a warm cushion they never had to kids.

“When God blessed me together with my buddies, We felt the need to share the warmth and joy with other underprivileged children by doing this charity drive. We started in March this year, feeding 80 plus needy kids in our society,” he said.

Except from digging deep into their pockets, the Muso Fundament crew sometimes received their soups from an organization called Angel Network SA which help them to spread to other areas as well.

Sibiya said his hardworking team comprises of Blessing Mokoena, Glory Twala, and Mampho Mokoena.

Sharing his reaction to the festivities involving the models, Sibiya said he was short of words to explain his jubilation.

Day well spent: VUT pageant finalised, Muso Fundamant and school of jubilant children posed for a picture after a day well spent.

“I am so touched, and beyond happy. The mandate and vision to serve these kids are fulfilled, which leaves our team very happy,” he said.

Pageant Coordinator, Gift Dlamini from Gifted Image said “We want to contribute to what Muso has already founded. We thought it would be important to bring our finalists to also contribute. We came bearing clothes and some food, and we also offered a helping hand in dishing for these kids,” she said.

“This is imperative for our models to learn ways of giving back to communities through charity drives. The project is amazing, and seeing how big the project is growing, really warms my heart,” she said.

One of the male models, Amir Parmar (20) said “I enjoyed putting smiles on these little kids’ faces. This is not the first-time being part of such an initiative, however doing it in different communities really felt good.”

Thandolwethu Khumalo (19), a female finalist said “Being part of the Mr and Ms. VUT has been an interesting and beneficial journey for me. It is such a privilege to be part of the soup kitchen. It warms my heart to know that I can put a smile on others with the little that I have. We brought some food, and some clothes to donate to them.”
