BMW ripped into pieces in De Deur horror crash

Tragedy strikes as fatal collision leaves one dead and four injured in De Deur following a head-on collission.

DE DEUR – A peaceful Saturday afternoon took a tragic turn when a head-on collision between a grey BMW and a bakkie resulted in one fatality and left four individuals seriously injured.

The incident unfolded on Rose Road, a quiet stretch just a few kilometers from the local police station, sending shockwaves through the De Deur community.

Eyewitnesses recounted the horrifying scene as the BMW, carrying four occupants, sped out of control and collided head-on with a van.

This is after the BMW had been attempting to overtake another vehicle in the convoy, an ill-fated maneuver that led to the devastating crash.

Occupants who were inside the BWM were said to be coming from De Deur cemetery when the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to a community policing member, authorities were swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they found the mangled wreckage of the vehicles.

The force of the impact left a trail of destruction, scattering debris across the road which led to a long queuing traffic.

Midvaal Fire and Rescue used jaws of life to retrieve the drivers body and three others trapped.

Some motorists left their cars idling as they went to look on at the heart-wrenching incident.

Local residents who witnessed the aftermath of the collision expressed their shock and disbelief.

“It’s heartbreaking to see something like this happen in our community. This road is bad, and motorists seem not to respect it. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time,” said Ntswaki Mosibi.

Bystanders watched as the BMW was ripped by Midvaal Fire and Rescue teams to relieve the trapped occupants of the BWM.

Several Emergency Management Services personnel also assisted following the crash.

Gauteng police spokesperson, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said a case of capable homicide was opened and investigations are underway.
