SEDIBENG.- The DSTV Premiership Soccer League (PSL) season for 2023/2024 has kicked off with no surprises as the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns began where they left off last season.
Sundowns started their league campaign on a high note winning both of their opening games against Sekhukune United with the latest win being against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday, Women’s Day. As things stand, it seems as if Sundowns will once again dominate the 2023/2024 season looking at the log standing and the quality this Tshwane-based outfit possesses. Sundowns made their intention clear when they beat their rivals Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 on Wednesday.
They beat Sekukhune United with the same score, 2-1, in their opening fixture of the season with Kaizer Chiefs playing to a goalless draw against Chippa United wi Orlando suffered a 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch in their opening fixture of the season.
However, Pirates bounced back from this defeat when they beat Royal AM 4-2 in the DSTV Premiership League match on Wednesday. However, it is still to be seen which team will challenge Mamelodi Sundowns to the league title this season.
