Black Stars hosts a successful Women’s Day tournament

The winning teams in both games were awarded a winners' cup and gold medals.

SEBOKENG.- Talent always needs to be natured from a young age, and Zone 10 Black Stars Football Club (FC) did exactly this on Women’s Day.

This was proof when Black Stars FC hosted a successful Women’s Day Tournament at the Lengweleng soccer grounds (Black Pirates Ground) in Small Farms, Evaton on Wednesday.

The tournament was for two divisions, the U/13 and the U/17s.

Sipho Six, who are ball jugglers provided much-needed motivation for the youngsters who were in attendance in large numbers.  A talent discovery was also made when one of the boys from Black Stars’ U/15, Mzoxolo ‘Muzi’ Nkuli, provided live commentary during the games, much to the delight of the fans.

In the U/13 final, Ernesto City beat Black Stars 1-0 to win the game, and in the U/17 final Young Boys beat Black Stars 2-1. The winning teams in both games were awarded a winners’ cup and gold medals, while the losing teams were awarded silver medals.

The organizers thanked all those that made the day possible.
