Letter: ANC deputy president must be criminally charged

"ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile might have intentionally mislead the general public by denying that during the assault he was not present."

SEDIBENG.- The blue lights brigades who assaulted another driver given court proceedings and evidence as
unfolding refers that the ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile might have intentionally mislead
the general public by denying that during the assault he was not present in one of the convoy
cars.
Recent pronouncements suggest he was, in fact, present, hence such misconduct and criminal behaviour were carried out by those responsible to protect him (SAPS VIP). This cannot be tolerated and the law must prevail and justice be served to all eight (08) personnel and he (Mashatile) must also be charged for defeating the ends of justice.

The constitution of South Africa states that everybody is equal before the law. While at that, it is very disturbing for perpetrators who committed this criminal act to get to hide their faces when appearing before the magistrate court, and it seems like this is now a norm for criminals, to hide their identity or rather only selective to the privileged few for sake of fear of being discriminated against for their evil conduct.

Victims must be protected and criminals must be found guilty as charged, after all, there’s no amount of justification behind such uncalled-for behavior by those who must be seen obeying the law while enforcing it.

In closing, the Deputy President must lead by example and come clean about this whole fiasco and must be criminally processed like any other citizen.
