There’s a new commissioner in town

Major General Adelaide Lemba has bigger shoes to fill as she is appointed Sedibeng Cluster Commissioner.

SEDIBENG – For months now, Sedibeng Cluster police have been without a Commissioner following Major General Zodwa Molefe’s retirement. But the days of acting are over as the women and men in blue welcomed a new police boss on July 1.

On Monday, July 10, the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Major General Elias Mawela officially welcomed a new sheriff in town.  Major General Adelaide Lemba, is the new top cop to head all fourteen police stations in the Vaal.

Mawela was flanked by his Deputy Provincial Commissioners, several district Commissioners, and other senior police Management during a top management meeting as they collectively congratulate the two senior managers.

The congratulation session was held in Midrand, Johannesburg where both Lemba and Major General Thabo Mphuthi who was appointed as a District Commissioner within Northern Cape were present.

Lemba joined the South African Police Services in 1994 as an admin clerk, two years later she completed the BPDLP training and steadily rose through the ranks.

She was she later climbed the corporate ladder and became the station Commander in Germiston for the past seven years until her appointment as District Commissioner of Sedibeng.

Major General Lemba obtained a National Diploma: Policing in 2001 and later went on to obtain a B Tech Degree: Policing (2006). She also holds a National Certificate in Accountants Theory (1993).
