Jumpers Family Softball Tournament in memory of fallen hero

The tournament is also part of celebrating Youth Day with families invited to come with their camp chairs and braai stands.

SEBOKENG.- The Jumpers Family Softball Tournament is scheduled to take place at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Zone 14, Sebokeng on 17 June.

The tournament will be held in celebrating the life of the fallen softball legend, Mosioua “Minge” Motsapi who was gunned down.  Phera Mautloa who is part of this tournament’s organisers promised that the tournament will attract teams as far as Pretoria.

The teams that are invited to take part in this tournament, the first of its kind, include VUT Softball Club, Jumpers (hosts), Flames from Tsakane, Tshwane University, Royals from Rustenburg, North West Masters, Free State Masters, Palmridge Softball Club from East Rand, Homespu, Ladies from Pretoria, Varsity College Ladies, Visqueen Ladies from Pretoria, Red Scorpion from Pretoria and Harrican Softball Club also from Pretoria. The tournament is for both men and women including masters softball teams.

Mautloa told Sedibeng Ster Sport that everyone is invited to be part of this Jumpers Family Tournament.

“The tournament is to celebrate the life of Mosiuoa Motsapi who was passionate about softball as a player, coach, umpire, and administrator. This is the best way we can honour his legacy during the youth month for his contribution to softball. His legacy will never be forgotten for the role he played in Softball South Africa from a young age.
