Seen this man? Cops believe he can help solve a murder case

Police in Maokeng strongly believe Nhlalo Sibanda can assist in the ongoing murder investigation of his slain girlfriend.

MAOKENG – Police in Maokeng have launched a manhunt for 27-year-old Nhlalo Sibanda.

According to police spokeswoman Sergeant Josephine Rani, the man is believed to be able to assist the police in a murder investigation.

This is after the body of Materonko Koloko (23) who was last seen with Sibanda, also a girlfriend to the man in question was found murdered near her home.

Koloko was last seen with Sibanda on Sunday, April 9, when they left a friend’s party together.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Rani said “It is alleged that Nhlalo Sibanda and his girlfriend Materonko Koloko went to a friend’s party on Sunday, 9 April 2023.

“He came back home alone. She never returned home and a missing person file was opened at Maokeng SAPS and a search was conducted. On Tuesday, 11 April 2023, members of Maokeng SAPS and the Community Police Forum discovered the body of a female in an open field not far from her house,” said the spokeswoman.

Rani said the body was identified as and certified dead on the scene.

“Sibanda was the last person seen with the deceased. The police hereby request assistance with tracing and locating him, as it is believed he can assist the police in the murder investigation,” she said.

Anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of Nhlalo Sibanda is requested to contact Sergeant Jabulani Khumalo of Maokeng Detectives on 073 900 4892 who is investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder.
