Amajimbos up against Senegal

If Amajimbos win and reach the Semi-finals they qualify for the U/17 World Cup to restore the country's hope after the U/23 disaster.

SEDIBENG.- The South Africa U/17 Men National Team’s dream to book their place at the World Cup will come to a test against Senegal when these two countries lock horns at Nelson Mandela Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite their 3-2 defeat in the hands of Nigeria over the weekend, Amajimbos will put this disappointment behind them in a quest to qualify for the FIFA U/17 World Cup at the expense of Senegal come Tuesday.  If they win, it will be a great advert for South African football especially the development of football with so much talent with some gone and wasted.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ young star Siyabonga Mabena is one of the Amajimbos players expected to carry the hopes of the nation. Mabena is one of the youngsters who take PSL by storm after being promoted to the senior team. He has already won his first DStv Premiership medal when Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned the DStv Premiership champions in his debut season. He is a player to watch against Senegal on Tuesday afternoon.

The game kick is at 17:00.
