VANDERBIJLPARK – The Vaal University of Technology (VUT) and the Academics fraternity is mourning the passing of Professor Dan Kgwadi who died due to his illness.
According to the institution, the 56-year-old met his untimely death on Sunday evening, April 30.
In a statement issued on Monday, May 1, the Chairperson of VUT Council, Professor Mandla Radebe, confirmed the passing of their suspended Principal.
“It is with sadness that we announce the news of the passing of our Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Dan Kgwadi. According to the family, Prof Kgwadi passed away last night (Sunday) due to illness,” said Radebe in a statement.
“Kgwadi assumed the role of VUT’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal on 1st February 2022. He joined our institution from North-West University where he held a similar role for several years,” he said.
Radebe sent his condolences and that of the institution to the Kgwadi family following the passing of Prof Kgwadi.
“I wish to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues,” he said.
