ARCON PARK – They work extra shifts to make an extra income for themselves.
But a group of petrol attendants at Engen Garage in Arcon park, use their hard-earned cash from overtime, to help feed, clean and clothe those in need.
From feeding the homeless, supplying shelter to the troubled peoples and donating dignitary packs to young boys and girls in need, this is how Mosebetsi Macholo and his colleagues choose to spend their money.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the self-proclaimed Vaal President told the paper how it breaks his heart to see people in need and how the idea of giving was born inside him and his buddies.
“I grew up as a naughty kid and overnight, I felt like I am connecting to God and want to help the needy. I then started by helping young boys and girls by buying them dignitary packs. The urge to assist others grew over the years and I ended up giving back to those in need with any sort of assistance,” he said.
“When people sometimes need shelter, I take them to my rented place for some days or weeks even in order for them to bounce back, and continue with their lives,” said Macholo
The popularly known influencer, musician, motivational speaker, and promoter said he hate seeing people homeless and with no hope.
“I didn’t grow up with a silver platter and I am not rich, but with the little I have, helping those in need gives me peaceful sleepless night. I extended the giving spirit in me to some of my colleagues. We came up with an idea to use our earnings on our Sunday night shift to feed the hungry. We combined the little cents we have to buy bread and milk to share with the homeless and needy,” he said.
The 25-year-old extended an invitation to those willing to help, donate anything and continue with their idea of eradicating poverty.
“We are just petrol attendants and we can never help all those in need. If there are people who would like to assist with any sort of donations, they can do so. We are based in Arcon park filling station, dropping any gifts will be highly appreciated,” he said.
