EVATON.- The Evaton Police, which included the Social Crime prevention, and Communication Office together with Sector Managers conducted a car hijacking awareness campaign in their policing precinct last week.
The awareness particularly took place around Sector 01 in Hamilton Road Evaton in a form of distributing pamphlets to the motorist and people walking on foot. Police Spokesperson Constable, Thulisile Msibi said that the main of the campaign was to alert motorists about the surge of hijackings in the area.
” They must at all times stay vigilant on the road,must not give lift to the people they do not know. The community members are urged to work with the police and to report any suspicious movements and crime happening in the area,” said Msibi.
About 100 pamphlets were distributed and people were thrilled to see the police on the road.
