SEDIBENG.- Bafana Bafana qualified for the African Cup Of Nationals against all odds scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast next year.
Bafana Bafana beat Liberia 2-1 in the return leg in Liberia last Sunday evening. This was a must-win for Bafana Bafana’s coach Hugo Broos after a disappointing 2-2 draw here at home.
There was no hope among the South Africans that Bafana Bafana will qualify for this continental tournament but did so against all odds. Speaking after the game, Broos said emotions were high with Bafana Bafana Team Manager receiving marching orders from the match officials.
“We went there knowing that we need a win nothing else and I’m happy because the players showed character and fighting spirit. Our preparation for AFCON starts now and we will play friendly matches with some high-profile countries.”
