SEDIBENG.- Bafana Bafana Coach, Hugo Broos has selected ten Mamelodi Sundowns players in his 35-man preliminary squad for upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Liberia.
Bafana Bafa host Liberia at Orlando Stadium on 24 March. Sundowns players were selected in numbers following the club’s domination in the DSTV Premiership in all competitions. The new baby on the block, Cassius Mailula, is among the ten players selected from Sundowns.
Mailula is among the PSL’s leading top goal scorers. He is only 19 years old but has already made a name for himself in top-flight football.
Broos’ priority is to be among the big boys of African countries to be part of AFCON scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast next year.
He told the media that he selected the players based on their current performance.
