Vaal Ideas FC challenges for league title

"We are not going to fall into the trap of thinking we have already won the league in this stream because we are competing against the best in our stream."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Vaal Ideas FC look set to challenge for the league title in the Vanderbijlpark Steam.

Vaal Ideas maintained their lead at the top of the log standing after they beat Still Waters FC 2-1 in the Super League match played at Cecil Oldrige Park over the weekend. Vaal Ideas FC has won all their six matches since the start of the Super League 2022/2023 soccer season.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, after the game Vaal Idea FC Head Coach, Abiel “Guna” Motaung said that winning all their opening games of the season shows consistency. He believes that if they maintain this performance there is no doubt that they will be crowned the champions at the end of the season.

Motaung told Sedibeng Ster Sport that even though they are at the top of the log there is still a long way to go before they can start thinking of winning the league. He said they will take each game as it comes to avoid putting themselves under pressure.

“There is still a long way to go to think that we have won the league because we are still in the early stage of the season.But having said this, we will fight until the end to maintain our lead at the top. It not going to be easy but we will hang on up there to finish among the top teams at the end of the season.

This season we have assembled a strong team and I have no doubt that we are going to be among the best teams at the end of the season. We started well compared to the previous season which is a positive sign,” said Motaung.
