VANDERBIJLPARK. –Grade 7 girls at Emfuleni Primary School in Bophelong, the year started off on a high note. This is after the Vanderbijlpark Rotary club went above and beyond to put smiles on the young ladies during for the first month of the 2023 academic year.

The girls were treated with over 80 ‘bags of blessings’ which included essentials for young girls, pizza and bottled water. The cherry on top was a motivational speech from the guest of honour, Vaal business woman Iris Khosana.

Khosana says, “It is the beginning of the year and kids need to be taught how to carry themselves both at School and at home. I thought it would be a great gesture to come and motivate the kids, Self-love and grooming are important. I spoke to girl about their confidence and how they need to carry themselves and treat each other as young ladies that are still growing up.”

Department Head Sandy Chetty said that the bags of blessing were very needed. “We appreciate the community support; we are grateful for the partnership with the Vanderbijlpark Rotary club and other stakeholders.
Our kids need such gestures, not only for girls but for boys too.”
Chetty said that the school has many kids from disadvantaged backgrounds and urged stakeholders to see this event as an example to bring change to the kids’ lives.
