Sonlandpark nursery school owner murdered in cold-blood

The cold-blooded murder of 51-year-old Franciska Mokgotloane has left the Vaal fraternity reeling in shock.

VEREENIGING. – The police in Vereeniging have launched a manhunt for two African males following the cold-blooded murder of 51-year-old nursery school owner Franciska Mokgotloane.

Mokgotloane was shot numerous times and left for dead by two unknown males at her home in Sonlandpark this morning.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the brother of the deceased Thabo Motaung said the incident happened at around 05:30. Motaung states that the deceased was going to drop-off her 10-year-old son at school and subsequently go to her dialysis treatment when she was ambushed.

Police spokesperson captain Fikile Funda confirms that a murder and house robbery case docket has been launched for investigation.

“It is alleged that the deceased was about to leave the house and went to the garage to start the car. While she was in the garage, two African males opened the garage door and fired three shots.

“One suspect subsequently drove out with the deceased’s car while the other suspect went back to shoot the deceased again while she was lying on the ground.”

Funda stated that both suspects the fled in the woman’s vehicle, a red Mahindra TUV 300 with registration number HT 56 RG GP.

“The deceased’s purse and iphone worth an estimated R28 000 were inside her bag which was in the car.”

Sedibeng District Commissioner Major General Zodwa Molefe has condemned the incident.

“It is very barbaric for a woman to be killed in this manner especially during the month of love, “ Molefe said.
