Former Orlando Pirates star passionate about development

I wish somebody could have taken the video of these games to use as our future reference.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Former Orlando Pirates midfielder/defender Sailor Tshabalala is one of a few former professional soccer players who are passionate about the development of football in Sedibeng.

This dreadlocked former great spent the whole day at NWU Vaal coaching youngsters during the selection of the Safa Sedibeng Regional Squad that will play against Mamelodi Sundowns’ development soon. The day’s program saw the Midvaal U/13 and U/15 squads playing against NWU Vaal Development and Nale Academy. Tshabalala was excited to see youngsters showcase their God-given talent without fear. It was a great advert for the development of football with these youngsters having a fun-filled day playing against each other throughout the day.

SAFA Sedibeng Head of Technical, Thulani “Japan” Mthimkulu was also there to witness this row talent.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Tshabalala said that he was overwhelmed by the kind of football these youngsters played despite their young age. He was full of praise for the coaches to give the youngsters the freedom to express themselves.

“What I have witnessed today is pure class and I have no doubt these young players have a great future in South African football. I was stunned, to say the least, and we can only hope these youngsters can go far with their football careers.”

“I’m very passionate about the development of football and I don’t regret spending the whole day here because it was worth it. Look, Vaal is blessed when it comes to talent and most PSL players come from this region, especially in the past we used to have great players coming from Vaal,” said Tshabalala.

Tshabalala was one of the players to have come from Vaal and became a household name in South African football. He will go down in the history of South African football as one of the most talented players this country has ever produced.
