EVATON.- It was talent on display when local netball teams battled it out in a fundraising tournament at Mafatsane Netball Courts in Evaton, over the weekend.
The tournament took place with local teams coming in numbers to be part of this initiative. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after the tournament, Lebohang Mphuti, one of the organisers said that the tournament went as planned.
Mphuti said that with the money that they raised on the day, they will take care of Vaal Stars FC financial crisis. DLSA Netball were crowned the champions in the u/15 category while Net Magic finished 2nd position. The host, Vaal Stars Netball Team came 3rd. DSLSA Netball Team were again crowned the champions in the u/19 category. Mphuthi said that Vaal Stars netball team thanks all the teams that participated in the tournament.
“We want to thank all the teams that made this tournament a success. It was a great day of netball and we wish to thank those individuals who also contributed their time and money”, he concluded.
