Thuto-Lore’s class of 2022 reaches greater heights

“We are now aiming for a 88% mark and we believe that working together, this is possible.”

SHARPEVILLE. – The work that the class of 2022 matriculants, and teachers of Thuto-Lore Secondary School in Vuka Sharpeville have put in has reaped amazing rewards.

The school achieved a 78.3% pass rate for the class of 2022, coming from 64.5, this makes it a 14% increase from the 64.5% that the school attained in 2021.

Sesotho, English, Life Orientation, Technical Science, Engineering, Graphics and Design, Civil Technology, Technical science and Welding are amongst the subjects that the class of 2022 excelled in at the school.  Speaking without any hesitation to Sedibeng Ster, the school’s principal, Thabo Lehobo said that hard work and dedication truly does pay off.

“Our hard work as a team (staff and parents), ‘fighting’ together to achieve great results, has paid off. We have worked hard to be where we are now and I would like to thank both the parents and teachers for their dedication to the education of these children. The overtime that they put in on Saturdays and Sundays has paid off. I can, therefore say that we are truly proud of the class of 2022, they have made us proud.”

Lehobo further said that the achievement was not without any struggles, and stumbling blocks along the year, but that they persevered.

“The attendance of the learners was very good and without their perseverance we could not be at this point.  They deserve the rewards and going forward we wish all of them all of the best.”

Going forward Lehobo said that with the class of 2023 the school has put in strategies in place and that they aim to achieve much more than the past year.

In total the school had 123 matriculants and 94 of them made the finishing line, giving both their parents and mentors joy.

Of the 123 matriculants that the school had, the results were as follows:

  • 23 Bachelors Certificates
  • 42 Diplomas
  • 29 Higher Certificates
  • 29 Did not achieve (3 of these pupils, had incomplete results due to unforeseen circumstances (such as sickness).
