Over two hundred out of 10 000 passed out police deployed in Sedibeng

Last week, a total of ten thousand newly appointed constables were passed out to join different police stations in a bid to add more boots on the ground to help fight crime in Mzansi.

VANDERBIJLPARK – On Wednesday, 21 December, 2022, Sedibeng Cluster police received their fair share of 240 cops who completed their nine-month Basic Police Development Learning Programme.

And to demonstrate a warm welcome to the newly appointed young women and men in blue, police bosses in the region held an orientation day for the pack.

Dressed in their still like new boots and uniform, girls and boys filled the soccer pitch at Isak Steyl sport stadium in Vanderbijlaprk as they paraded for their superiors.

Police bosses from 14 police stations in the Sedibeng District including the Deputy Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Mkhwashu and Vanderbijlpark station commissioner Brigadier Nikiwe Sefatsa welcomed the masses.

Speaking to the gathering newly trained police, Sefatsa said the rain showers that fell on their pass out day in Pretoria, was a sign of sanctification.

“You are the first group to get rain showers and that on its own symbolized blessings. None of us when we passed out, we were addressed by the President of South Africa himself, even that should show you how blessed you are. This is a sign that you are the cream of the crop,” she said.

Sefatsa said dedication, honesty and zest, is the only medicine that the newly trained cops need in order to prosper in the force.

“The rain cleansed any negativity that could be bestowed on you. The uniform you downing today possesses power but never forget the power comes from God. As you go out, you are expected to make a difference,” she said.

“Working with dedication, being honest to the uniform and showing enthusiasm is the only thing that will brighten your future in SAPS,” she added.

We are gathered to celebrate you for passing your duties and we want to see implementing what you’ve been taught at college. I want to congratulate you and welcome you in Sedibeng”.

Nkhwashu said he is confident that the newly trained officers are going to bolster the capacity in Sedibeng District and bring about change.
