Fear over missing eight-months pregnant woman and boyfriend

An eight-month pregnant woman and her boyfriend are presumed kidnapped and their family members are left worried for their wellness.

VANDERBIJLPARK – Nokuphila Dladla (22) and Kiwiet Mokoena (35) were last seen on the 14, December, 2022 in Vanderbijlpark.

When Kiwiet didn’t pitch for work the next day, his nonattendance raised alarm and the family went to look for him where he stays. Arriving at his home, the Mokoena’s were met by blood stains on his clothes, his car keys left on one of his vehicles, and another missing in the yard.

Dladla who is said to be always home, was also nowhere to be found and her bath water was left in the room. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, a family member explained what happened on the day of their disappearance.

“We went to the backroom where the couple stays and we found his Kia missing in the yard. We asked his landlord who claimed not to have seen him since the day before he went missing. When we opened his room, we found his hat with blood, bath water on the floor and blood stains all over,” he said.

“When we check(ed) his Golf (car) left in the yard, we found his car keys in it. We are now worried because Nokuphila is set to give birth soon,” he added.

Another family member said they suspect Kiwiet’s baby mama because she always threatened Nokuphila.

“We can’t think of anyone who would kidnap the couple. But if we think about it, the baby mama of our brother always went to their home and threatened the pregnant woman claiming that if she can’t have Kiwiet, they are both going to lose him. Now this?” asked the family member.

“All we want is Nokuphila and Kiwiet to be found. We have reported them missing and police are helping us to look for them,” she added.

Vanderbijlpark police spokeswoman Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that a missing persons case has been opened at their police station.

“The Vanderbijlpark SAPS is investigating a missing person’s case following the disappearance of Mr. Kiwiet Mokoena 35 years old and Nokuphila Dladla 22. Police are asking and pleading with anyone who has information about Mokoena and Dladlla’s disappearance to please come forward and assist us with the investigation or if they know their whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, D/Sgt.
