16 days of activism against GBV

"They should let the police do their investigations."

EVATON.- The Evaton Social Crime Prevention joined by stakeholders from Phahamang le Amohele NGO, Life Line, Lesedi la and Batjha NGO to celebrate 16 Days of Activism against women and children abuse and community as a whole in Evaton last week.

The event was held in Small Farms next to Mashabane Secondary School where the Evaton Police spoke to the community members to come and report Gender Based Violence (GBV) at the Victim Friendly Room at SAPS Evaton and to refrain from withdrawing cases after opening them.

Police Spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said: “The parents must know their children’s whereabouts at all times, to avoid missing children /persons and human trafficking.” Msibi further urged the community members to be vigilant when driving and parking their vehicles as hijacking is increasing in the Evaton area.

“The community must make sure to lock their houses to avoid breakings.”
