Two teachers hijacked, kidnapped, robbed and dumped at cemetery

It was a normal day for two teachers from Lakeside High School who were knocking off and leaving school premises, until they were ambushed action movie style at the gate of their work place.

LAKESIDE – A white motor vehicle blocked the car the two teachers were driving in, on the entrance, two armed suspects pulled guns on their faces and demanded them to jump on the back site of their Daihatsu.

Following the hijacking, one suspect drove off with the duo to Poortjie cemetery near the N1 highway, where they were robbed off their belongings.

The dramatic scenes played out on Thursday afternoon around 17:30.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sedibeng cluster police spokeswoman Constable Doris Nkosi said following a tip-off, police swiftly traced the suspects.

“Our Sedibeng Task Team chased the suspects and apprehended them at the cemetery. Suspects were found in possession of a hijacked motor vehicle, unlicensed firearm and live ammunition,” she said.

“Whilst the suspects robbed the victims, they demanded access to banking apps which has school money to try and drain them out”.

Nkosi added that both suspects were arrested and apprehended at Sebokeng and Boipatong copshops.

“The suspects will be appearing in court soon,” she said.
