Zondo hails ELFA junior league play offs as a success

Emfuleni Local Football Association  (ELFA) Head of Development, Master Zondo hailed the junior league Play-offs played at Shakespeare Stadium in Vanderbijlpark over the weekend as a success.

VANDERBIJLPARK.-  Zondo said that despite the bad conditions of the fields, the teams gave all their best on the day. These play- offs saw three ELFA streams pitted against each other to produce the overall winner for all the age groups. The three streams that formed part were Evaton, Sebokeng and Boitshepiville Stream. It was action galore throughout the day with the day’s program starting in the morning until late in the afternoon.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Zondo was full of compliments for the participating teams. The teams that formed part of this play offs were those who finished at the top of the log intheir respective streams. He also applauded the teams for playing the league from the beginning until the end of the season.

“We want to thank the league administrator, Kelebogile Sehume who is always doing his best to make sure teams receive a five star treatment from the league. He did exceptionally well to make sure our league runs very smooth and we really appreciated his efforts. We also want to thank all the businesses partners who played a huge part in making sure as ELFA we get financial assistance, such as Nelkon Security Company, Letsatsi Barkery, Gushadee Glowing Skin and Vaal Milling for investing in the development of football in Emfuleni area. It was a well spent day with these youngsters showcasing their God given talent throughout the day,” he said.

Zondo also told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they are looking forward to holding the awards ceremony for junior league teams on 18 December with the Barney Sports Foundation U/13 Festive Tournament scheduled to take place on 3 December.
