SEBOKENG.- This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by one of the former veteran softball administrators, Phera Mautloa.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mautloa said that the tournament is in honour of the late Bricks Tsunke who was a par excellence softball administrator. Tsunke and Mautloa are some of the people who contributed to the success and development of softball in Sedibeng. Softball is no longer the same after the passing of Tsunke and other softball administrators in this region. However, Mautloa said that the Bricks Tsunke Memorial Softball Tournament is part of reviving the sport in Sedibeng, especially in townships.
“We want to bring back softball to honour the legacy that was left by Bricks Tsunke and others, players and administrators. Tsunke left legacy in softball and it is only fair to honour him even though he is no longer with us. You can’t talk about softball without mentioning the name of Bricks Tsunke because the man was passionate about this sport. He was a good friend, brother and colleague in sports and he will always be in my thoughts. We had great time together because we shared the same passion which is softball. The man lived, ate, drank and slept softball, and we must continue with his legacy,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
