Beachgoer shot dead on Umhlanga pier

KwaZulu-Natal:  Reports allege that an altercation had broken out between two adult males and one of the men produced a 9mm firearm and shot the victim once in the abdomen.

When medics arrived on scene, the patient had gone into cardiac arrest. A full advanced life support resuscitation had been initiated by Emergency Care Practitioners from Netcare 911 and another private ambulance service. Sadly despite best efforts, the patient’s condition rapidly deteriorated and he was declared deceased on the scene.

Circumstances leading up to the shooting will be investigated by the Durban North SAPS who were on scene.
