Nale still alive and kicking

There was panic from the South African football fraternity following the news that former Kaizer Chiefs darling, Abia “Soul Provider” Nale has passed away on Monday.

SEDIBENG.- This journalist who happens to be related to this former Amakhosi star received calls from media houses and soccer fans to inquire about the passing of Nale.

It was reported on one of the websites on social media that Nale had passed on, under the headline: “Sad news, Kaizer Chiefs legends has passed away” with Nale’s picture in action for Kaizer Chiefs.

Soccer fans took this to social media to send condolences to the family. The confusion started when Kaizer Chiefs announced on their website of the passing of one of the former players by the name of Steven Ncanana who happens  to have the same dreadlocks as Nale, even though he (Nale) cut them a long time ago.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Zacharia Nale, who is the uncle to this former soccer player, said he received a call from his colleagues in the media inquiring about the passing of Abia (Nale) on Monday afternoon.

“Even before I saw the link, I received calls from some of the journalists asking me about the passing of Abia. As a family were are very disturbed because Abia is still alive. We don’t know how this confusion happened because these are two different players. We are also disappointed with the person who put the picture of Abia instead of Ncanana because this is where the problem started. This is unfortunate because his mother nearly got a heart attack when he heard this from her neighbours that they saw a story on the website that her son is no more. We are still confused even now why somebody can do such a thing.  As a family we can assured you that Abia is alive and kicking,” said Nale.
