Initiation-watch ready and geared up for summer intake!

Sedibeng Initiation Traditional Surgeon Committee (SITSC) is warning chance-takers not to take chances this summer initiation season.

VANDERBIJLPARK – According to the initiation-watch committee in the Sedibeng region, they are ready to deal with unscrupulous initiation chiefs and those illegally erecting schools in Vaal bushes.

This stern caution was put out by the organization’s chairman during a one-on-one interview on the state of readiness for the December intake.

Since the Corona virus pandemic hit Mzansi, initiation schools were banned throughout the country.

For the first time in two years, initiation camps will be set up and boy initiated, however the committee says this will be a zero death and corrupt free season.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster at Emerald in Vanderbijlpark, Chairman of the SITSC said they are working on scanning and registration processes for placement of different camps.

“We are busy with registrations and placing of initiation schools for different chiefs this for December. On the 14 of December, it will only then that initiation schools will be setting their camps and starting with their processes.

“We are pleading with initiation chiefs to apply in order to get their permits and operate lawfully,” he said.

Spinaar said only children from 16-years of age will be allowed to undergo the age-old tradition.

“The processes we are busy with now, will help us in detracting fraud chiefs from those who got the best interests of continuing with this traditional journey. We won’t tolerate any school which will be initiating boys younger than 16-years and those who will try to erect camps corruptly so,” he added.

Spinaar sent out a strong message to chancers that anyone who will do as they please, will be brought to book.

“We are going to war with illegal initiation chiefs and bogus initiation schools. We will be clamping down schools as a way of maintaining respect and preserving our culture and tradition. We won’t allow lawlessness in our region,” he said.
