A polo driver was dragged and killed by a truck at the interception near Mittal Steel after failing to stop on Tuesday.

VADERBIJLPARK – Emfuleni Fire fighters worked for hours trying to retrieve the body of a white Polo driver following the incident.

A long queuing traffic was caused by motorists as drivers and commuters looked on when a breakdown tried to pull the truck off the polo during the retrieving of the deceased.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, bystanders told the paper that the incident happened after 12 o’clock.

When the Ster team arrived at the accident scene around past 3, emergency personnel together with firemen and women were still trying to retrieve the body of the driver after cutting the hood of the car.

“When I passed the robots around 12:30, the accident had just happened. I’m coming Vanderbijlpark and to my surprise the man is still not been taken out of the car hours later,” said a man who refused to be named.

Sedibeng Cluster police spokesman Seargent Shaan Motsapi said a case of capable homicide and reckless drive was opened.

Meanwhile, the truck that hit the driver is suspected to be from the same company of the other truck that was involved in a crash a month ago, killing three cops in Steel Park.

Alphabets on the bodies of the Horse (Head puller) engraved on both trucks had similar acronyms.

The truck that crashed on police was printed BML065 and the truck involved in the recent incident was engraved BML 158.

At the time of going to print, the police couldn’t give further information on the engraved alphabets on both trucks.
