17 rushed to hospital after two state vehicles collide in De Deur

17 patients believed to be members of the SAPS were rushed to hospital on Wednesday afternoon following a collision between a marked van and an unmarked mini bus. 

DE DEUR. – The incident happened near De Deur police station on Rose Road. It is believed that the mini bus was transporting members of the SAPS Drill Squad who were in the region at the time.

The incident happens just weeks after three members of the Vereeniging SAPS lost their lives in a gruesome accident when a truck failed to stop at a four-way crossing in Vereeniging. The three members were laid to rest last  weekend.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello says, ” The police have opened a rereckless andd negligent case for further investigations after two state vehicles, a bakkie and a mini bus collided.

“The incident happened on 21 September 2022 at Rose Road in De Deur. All 17 occupants from both vehicles were taken to a local hospital for medical attention, ” Sello concludes.
