Midvaal engages prominent business leaders

The Executive Mayor, Peter Teixeira, together with the Mayoral Committee engaged with local businesses and industry leaders recently.

SEDIBENG.- The municipality said that this was part of the municipality’s efforts to meet its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for economic growth. The engagement was also part of the municipality’s efforts to foster relations and form collaborative partnerships with the business industry.

“Midvaal Local Municipality is taking a proactive approach to create a conducive environment for investment and economic growth.
Attracting investment will not only grow our local economy but will reduce unemployment, poverty and inequality stemming from the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The engagement and discussions also focused on creating a culture for corporate social investment initiatives, supplier development interventions and partnership campaigns to grow Midvaal.”

Teixeira, emphasised the need for local businesses to employ local people and source local goods in their value chain. The agenda also included possible solutions to cut the red tape and plans to further improve the municipality’s infrastructure.

” This engagement was essential to ensure that the municipality continues to be innovative, responsive, and adaptable to the needs of businesses. We look forward to further engagements and development that will unlock Midvaal’s economic potential.”
