75 wanted suspects arrested during tracing operation by Sedibeng detectives

A tracing operation by detectives from various police stations in Sedibeng District yielded good results after 75 wanted suspects were nabbed. 

SEDIBENG. – Police spokesperson Sergeant Maria Letsele reports that members were hard at work tracing suspects from the early hours of the morning on Wednesday and Thursday.

Letsele says, “All detectives from different police stations in Sedibeng worked tirelessly to nab suspects of crime in the region.

“A total of 75 arrests were made on various case dockets. This includes murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, common robbery, assault GBH, rape, sexual assault, housebreaking and theft, possession of a firearm, theft, fraud, malicious damage to property, arson, pointing of a firearm, discharging of a firearm, culpable homicide, resisting arrest and contempt of court,” adds Letsele.

The  Sedibeng detective commander Colonel Henk Van Der Merwe, says crime doesn’t pay and appeals to victims of crime to report  incidents so that  perpetrators can be brought to book and to ensure that just gets served.

All arrested suspects will make an appearance before Vereeniging Magistrate Court .
