Councillor Diutlwileng hosts birthday for 105-year-old ‘Gogo’

Ward 32 Fihli Mbongo Ward Councilor, Kgatle Diutlwileng, hosted a birthday party for Gogo Margaret Sellane at Modishi Primary School in Zone 13, Sebokeng over the weekend.

SEBOKENG.- Gogo Sellane was turning 105 and Diutlwileng organised a birthday party for her with some of the elderly people in the community invited to attend this milestone success. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Diutlwileng said that when he learned that gogo Sellane would be turning 105, he decided to organise the party for her.

Diutlwileng told Sedibeng Ster that this initiative has nothing to do with politics, but it is part of his generousity for the community. He said even before he became an ANC Councillor in the ward, he was always involved in some projects in the community.

Diutlwileng was involved in the community during the nationwide lockdown giving more than 100 families bread every day in the morning. To make it interesting, Diutlwileng did not only invite the elderly people in his ward to celebrate with gogo Sellane but he also gave all of them blankets.

“Look when I heard that gogo Sellane will be turning 105 I decided to organise a party to celebrate with other elderly people in the community. I was very touched specially to see her grandchild crying because she didn’t expect this to happen with her grandmother. For me the community will be always close to my heart, and I will do everything to uplift my community. This has nothing to do with politics or elections campaign as people would think as now there are no elections. I believe government and community must work together and this is exactly what I want to achieve until I finish my term as a counclilor in this ward. I want to see unity between government and community,” said Diutlwileng.
