ELM unites its women
The Emfuleni Local Municipality’s (ELM) Information Systems section hosted a successful, informative and well attended Women’s Seminar at the Vereeniging library on Friday.
VEREENIGING.- The seminar was for all women involved in the municipality’s libraries in Sedibeng. The seminar took place under the theme: ‘Women rise up/Let’s Unite’. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, one of the organisers from the Vereeniging Library, Mathoto Mahlaba said that women were empowered to rise to the challenges that they face.
“The seminar came at a right time when the economy is taking a downward spiral, when societal ills are ravaging human dignity. Women must be empowered with essential tools to overcome the challenges they face at work, in society and at home.”
During the seminar, women were encouraged to embrace their individuality and similarly recognise that together they are powerful and can overcome anything.
“Women are powerful beings who are more than powerful to build and to destroy when they want to,” Mahlaba said.
