VEREENIGING.- This was during the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Council Sitting where Executive Mayor, Sipho Radebe was also presenting his State of the Municipality Adress (SoMA).
The ANCYL members were complaining about an EFF Councillor that is accused of rape, saying that he should not be allowed in the sitting. They wanted the Council to suspend him while the matter is at the court of law. Lucky Shashaoka, Regional Secretary of the ANCYL said that as long as the youth league exists they will make sure that any rapist never sets foot in the Council. According to a well placed source within the ELM Council the suspect has been told to carry on with his duties until a verdict is reached in the court of law.
The matter has been rendered to the ethic committee.
