Over 100 suspects arrested during OKae Molao operation in Orange Farm

Over 100  suspects were arrested during Orange Farm's Operation Okae Molao on the Golden Highway. 

ORANGE FARMS . – The operation paid its third instalment with different Law Enforcement Agencies exercising policing in the Orange Farm precinct on Thursday.

During the operation, police conducted roadblocks  where several cars were stopped and searched. Motorists and commuters were also searched

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster on the sidelines, Deputy Commander in Sedibeng District Cluster Brigadier Mbangwa Nkwashu said they operations are proving nothing but success.

Nkwashu said that 80 people were arrested on the two-day operation and an additional 20 foreigners were brought to book for being in the country illegally.

“We are on the Golden Highway today for the purpose of Okae Molao. The purpose of this operation remains the same as this is our weekly instalment to restore law and order while effecting arrests on  suspect of crime,” he said.

“Orange Farm is one of the precincts troubled by all sort of crimes. We had a two-day operation where we saw more than 80 people being arrested and more than 20 illegal immigrants who are in the country iillegally .

NNkwashu said that police are carrying out daily operations and making arrests.

“We are really winning. We are getting more successes and this is a sign that we are getting there”.

Sedibeng houses 14 police stations and their members came in numbers to partake in the operation.

Sebokeng Station Commander Brigadier Elias Mokoena said they are also investing time in gender-based violence (GBV) cases.

“We are investing our resources on cases of Gender Based Violence. We also have designated teams that deal with this issue.”
