Hive of activities all over SA in celebration of Women’s Day

There were a hive of activities all over the country in celebrating Women’s Month over the weekend and on Tuesday.

SEDIBENG.- There were celebrations all over in the form of sport activities.

The local ladies soccer players were participating in the Legends Ladies Tournament held at Mabaleng Sport Ground in Refengkgotso over the weekend. This tournament formed part of celebrating women’s month.

Boitshepiville Ladies Legends Team’s Lorraine Montsho hailed the tournament as a success.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Boitshepiville Ladies Legends Team’s Lorraine Montsho hailed the tournament as a success. The Boitshepiville Ladies Legends Team was part of the women soccer teams that took part in this event. Montsho said that the tournament was part of Women’s Month, August.

The theme of the tournament was “Take a girl child to school” with the main aim being to raise sanity towels and donate them to schools. The Legends Ladies teams that competed in this Legends Ladies Soccer Tournament were Bophelong Legends, Parys, Boitshepiville, Welkom, Heidelberg and Potch Ladies Legends. Montsho told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the tournament will rotate to other regions and provinces due to a high demand.The last time this ladies legends tournament took place was at Boipatong Stadium with the same aim of raising sanitary towels for girl children.

“The tournament went as planned and we had fun on the day. The tournament was a success and the community members came in numbers to support this initiative. “As former ladies soccer players we want to plough back into our community and take care of the young girls in our community,” she told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
