Robbery at a place of worship

Nowadays no one seems to be immune to the wrath of criminals!

BOIPATONG.- A place of worship, the Revival Worship Centre in Winnies Park, Boipatong was robbed on Sunday.


It is believed that the suspects gained entry through a window that has no burglar proofing. Upon arriving at the church on Sunday, its elders noticed that the window had been broken, so they went inside to check. They discovered that two black hybrid speakers valued at R10,000 had been stolen. Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela confirmed the case and said that police are investigating a case of burglary at a business premises. Maxambela said that previously they had churches being broken into and all the faith-based Reverends/Pastors were called for a meeting and the incidents stopped.

“Police urge anyone with information to contact Warrant Officer Mokgajane at 016 930 2328 or 082 778 7938. The community must stop buying stolen goods. It is a criminal offence and they should not wait to report any suspicious act of criminal elements in the area.”

Meanwhile Boipatong Police Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Molotsi pleaded with the community members to work hand in hand with the police.
