Metsimaholo ex-offenders’ volunteers desks cleans CBD area

The Metsimaholo ex-offenders' volunteers desk team took it upon themselves to sleeve up, and dirty their hands making sure that the CBD and the environment area are kept clean on Tuesday.

SASOLBURG.- The Chairperson of the Ex-Offenders’ Organisation, Tieho Moshodi, said that drugs are killing “the generation of Mandela” and that the CBD has lost its meaning as people are scared to shop freely fearing the so called ‘nyaope boys’ or drug addicts.

Moshodi said that they were also doing the cleaning as part on Mandela Month and thatMandela’s mission was for peace, harmony and stability in the country.

“Lets not to oppress others through drugs. ”

The cleaning campaign started outside the municipality buildings and public library as well as the taxi rank. Moshodi’s Deputy, Morgan Zwane, thanked their members for showing loyalty and commitment for the past ten months since the establishment of the volunteers organisation. He also thanked Pick and Pay for donating food to them during the initiative, and Mo Pro Sound Shop for buying them maize meal to take home.

The team consisted of 20 members.
