Motshekga visits Sedibeng schools in commemoration of Mandela month

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga continued the Mandela month spirit of giving when she visited Jet Nteo High in Boipatong  and Emmanuel Primary in Sharpeville.

SEDIBENG. – Motshekga was accompanied by various stakeholders who handed over gardening tools, fertilizers  and money amounting to R20 000 to each school respectively.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster,  Motshekga explained her visit.

“We visited the two school in celebration of the month of Mandela. The R20 000 which has been donated to each school will help cater for the needs of learners and the school.

“The schools were selected by district officials but now I see why they chose these two schools. Both these schools make the district very proud.

“Both schools are very clean. Walls are painted, there is order and one can tell that the teachers are dedicated,” she said.

Motshekga said she was pleasantly surprised when she was given a grand welcome at Emmanuel where a number of pupils explained and demonstrated robotics which they added to their subjects.

“Seeing these young children demonstrating robotics really made my day. This is a sign that we are going in the right direction.

Even Mandela and the likes of Thambo will be happy that kids are getting such education in public schools,” she concluded.
