The ambush raid happened in the early hours of Thursday where 35 illegal immigrants were arrested for being in the country illegally.
According to police spokeswoman Constable Thulisile Msibi at around 03:45, Okae Molao operation hit the area and yielded good results.
“On Thursday 2020-07-21 at 03:45 the Sedibeng District police officers continued with their weekly Okae Molao Operation and the operation had various actions executed including roadblocks, random stop and search, vehicle, and house searches,” she said.
Msibi said liquor was among confiscated goods from illegal shebeens and illicit cigarettes.
“All the arrested suspects will appear in different magistrate courts soon,” she said.
