Operation Okae Molao clamps down on crime in Boipatong

The Boipatong policing precinct was recently painted blue when Sedibeng District Police together with various law enforcement agencies and the Boipatong Community Policing Forum (CPF) clamped down on crime. 

BOIPATONG. – This follows Operation Okae Molao which was carried out in the early hours of Thursday morning following a parade at President Hyper.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that during the operation, police conducted a roadblock, stop and searches and house searches.

“The operation covered sector one and two, including the Sharpeville policing precinct. Members managed to visits all 9 second hand dealership and managed arrest a dealer of illegal second goods.

In one incident, a 39-year-old African male was arrested at his residence when police caught him smoking crystal meth.

“In another incident, our crime prevention and sector manager were conducting patrols in Lusaka when they arrived at a popular shack where young people hang out.

“On arrival, two were found smoking crystal meth and were found in possession thereof. Others were found sleeping on couches. The two were subsequently arrested and charged with possession.”

Police seized 52 illegal cigarettes and manage to arrest eight illegal immigrants. Police visited six schools, four ATMs, two Hostels and closed down illegal shebeens and confiscated liquor worth an undisclosed amount.

Boipatong police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Mnini Molotsi  welcomed the arrests and efforts made by members. Molotsi further sent a strong message to criminals that Boipatong policing precinct is no place for criminals.

All arrested persons will make an appearance before the Vanderbijlpark magistrate court soon.
