Armed suspects attack and rob congregants in Mosque
A group Muslims were attacked and robbed of their cell phones and cash while praying in a Mosque in the early hours of the morning recently.
VANDERBIJLPARK.- Mullah Ibrahim said about R50 000 that was kept in the Mosque to assist those in need and for donations was also taken. All the individuals were also robbed of their cellphones and cash. Ibrahim also reported that the robbers, a gang of about ten, were already inside the moment congregationts heard them banging at the door.
It is suspected that the gang obviously knew about the money at the time of the robbery. The congregants said that the robbers could find themselves experiencing a horrifying time in the near future as they showed no respect for their religion.
Police Spokesperson, Sargeant Gertrude Makhale said that a case of business robbery has been opened and that the matter is handled by the District Task Team.
No arrests have been made.
