Young local model granted a lifetime opportunity

When opportunity knocks, make sure you make sure you make the most of it!

EVATON. –  This is exactly what Phoila Zimbawe, an 18-year-old from, Evaton West who is in matric at Poelano Secondary School aims to do at the Mister and Miss Model Mediterraneo Global, a beauty pageant that will be held in Spain in November this year.

The only hindrance to Zimbawe’s dreams is a lack of funds.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, he said, “I come from an underprivileged community and am trying not to end up here in life. It is one of my dreams to compete internationally. Please help me reach that dream.”

Zimbawe further adds that modelling gave him an opportunity to love himself, to appreciate himself, to himself and to believe in himself.

“Above all, I found myself doing what I love, enjoying myself and embracing who I am. Then I started to realise that a lot of my peers are suffering with self-identity as I was. What motivated me most was that now I felt responsible to help teach, educate, inspire, and motivate others to love themselves, and to appreciate the gift of life.”

The money required for him to reach his dreams is R 7000 for the flight and accommodation.

“The reason why I want to do this is to inspire my generation (and many others to follow) that they shouldn’t be afraid to pursue their dreams.”
