Lusa and donors bring warmth to kids in need

One thousand less fortunate kids will sleep warmer this winter thanks to Lusa Community Chest and its donors who took part in this year’s Lusa Winter Warm project.

Ms Veronica Cronje, Director of Lusa Community Chest.
“Every blanket on these tables represents a child with a potential seed of greatness within their soul,” said Veronica Cronje, director of Lusa Community Chest.
“I don’t know how many of you have ever had the privilege of spending time in the desert? It is a lonely, isolated and desolate place and it can stay like that for years. But when it rains, the desert is transformed into an amazing landscape filled with colour, life and hope. The potential for this transformation was dormant in the seeds buried within the desert’s soil.
“Each child represented today has a dormant seed of greatness within, and all they need is for someone to see their potential; for someone to reach out and unleash their greatness. Every blanket with a child’s name on it will tell them of someone who cares, someone who reached out. Today I would like to challenge every person to reach out to a child in need and to be the rain that will ultimately transform the seed and set their dreams free. Build a relationship with one of these children and see how the desert springs to life. Who knows how this seed you helped to germinate will change the world?” Veronica concluded.
